About SkyTails

SkyTails is a social‑mission fintech company dedicated to improving animal welfare by empowering both animal shelters and pet parents. The company provides a free-to-use platform which empowers pet parents to prepare financially to reduce stress and keep pets in their homes. SkyTails’ savings and investment accounts help pet parents set aside funds for future care, to prevent unnecessary debt, and encourage responsible pet ownership.

Getting started is simple: Starting at contributing $10/month, choose a SkyTails journey that fits your needs, though setting up a personalized account based on your personal preferences, and begin investing for your family’s future. When your pet needs care, you can redeem your funds with ease and at any time with no penalties or fees, because SkyTails believes that your money should stay yours to use when you wish.

SkyTails shelter partnerships

“As a graduate student at Northwestern University, I incubated SkyTails with a fellow student, our captain, Igor Mamut because as pet lovers, we wanted to create a useful tool to support animal welfare organizations and pet parents.” States Michael Heilbronner, Head of Growth at SkyTails. When someone adopts an animal from a partnered shelter (like HATS) and creates a SkyTails account during that process, SkyTails makes an annual contribution to the partnered shelter to help keep their animals happy and healthy. Through these partnerships, SkyTails is not only able to contribute to the funding of shelter operations but spread their mission to pet owners in the process.

“Seeing animals come back to us because of financial situations is always difficult, so I am excited to have tools like SkyTails in our community” Amanda Tillotson, Executive Director at HATS states. HATS is thrilled to announce their partnership with SkyTails and help them in their mission to encourage responsible pet ownership and support pet parents in keeping their pet happy and healthy.

About The Humane Animal Treatment Society (HATS)

The Humane Animal Treatment Society (HATS) is a 501(c)(3) non-profit animal welfare organization that is independently operated, serving the Mid-Michigan area. HATS is contracted to be the sole provider of all animal care and adoption services at the Isabella County Animal Control facility. Each year we help nearly 1,000 homeless or lost pets; providing food, vaccinations, veterinary care, and a clean, safe environment while they await placement in their forever homes or a safe return to their owner. We also operate the HATS Health Clinic which provides low-cost spay and neuter services to help reduce animal overpopulation in our community.

Our mission? To empower our community to support the compassionate treatment of all animals, we believe in a world where every home and every home has a happy, healthy animal. Our health clinic is our promise to address animal overpopulation in Mid-Michigan through affordable veterinary care. HATS is a proud partner of Bissell Pet Foundation, Best Friends Animal Society, Petco Love, 24 Pet Watch, Hills, and more.

Our clinic focuses on lowering animal overpopulation in our community by offering low-cost spay and neuter services to Mid-Michigan pet owners. Spay and neuter surgeries also help keep animals in their homes by solving common behavioral issues such as aggression, spraying, and roaming. “Fixing” animals also reduces their risk for certain cancers and has the possibility to increase their lifespan. The HATS clinic also offers vaccine and test add ons for our spay/neuter patients, these include distemper combo; bordetella; heartworm test; FIV/FeLV tests. Rabies vaccines are included for all eligible patients. In 2023 our clinic performed 1,728 surgeries and in 2024 we performed 1,718. As of July 24, 2025 our clinic performed 862 surgeries.

Love seeing Mt. Pleasant Humane team up with SkyTails to help pet parents plan ahead—so cool! After reading about saving for vet bills, I took a quick break and tried the SBTI Test just for fun. It’s a silly quiz but oddly addictive.

This partnership is a wonderful step toward helping pets stay with their families while supporting local shelters. Financial planning and responsible pet ownership can make a real difference for animal welfare. I also enjoy reading about technology topics like whatsapp gb, but initiatives that improve the lives of pets and communities are truly inspiring.

This was an informative post. I enjoy exploring digital tools, and an instagram reel downloader has become one of my favorite options for keeping useful Instagram content available whenever I need it.
